Berbee Derby is a Fun-filled Community Event

November 25, 2021 • Thanksgiving MORNING 10k & 5k Run/Walk • Fitchburg Business Park • 8:30am

The Berbee Derby is a fun-filled community event that has been running 18 years strong! Our dedicated volunteers work hard year-round to make your entire experience with the Berbee Derby a pleasant one. We’ve listed important information below to help you through the process of registering, arriving on race day, and many other details of our event. Download the 2021 Athlete’s Guide here.

We’ve partnered with RunSignUp to process your registration information. Before registering for the Berbee Derby, we encourage you to read through the information below regarding important dates, times of the event, the different race categories we offer, and parking.

Derby Village is where everything important will be on the race-day morning: CDW Warming Tents, the race start, water, Orange Shoe Warm-Up, and of course, those all-important porta-potties. Consult the Derby Village map and be in the know on race-day morning.

Perks & Rewards

All pre-registered runners and walkers who pick up their bib numbers at packet pick-up will receive a Berbee Derby long-sleeve Lands’ End t-shirt and Goody Bag stuffed with items donated by our generous sponsors. There are awards given out for top finishers.

From early registration discounts to team registration deadlines and even race-day schedule, this section provides you with all the information about where you need to be and when.

Routes & Maps

Both our 10k and 5k courses are distance-certified. Volunteers, rest stops (including bathroom breaks), and water stations will be located along the course. Download how to get there.

Parking is always at a premium on race morning, so do arrive early. Our start and finish lines are nestled in between the Fitchburg Business Park and our surrounding neighbors with parking available on the outskirts of each. Find out the best place to park based on the direction you’ll be coming from and the timing of when you’ll need to head out. (Did we mention you should plan on arriving early?) View the Parking Map here.

Travel & Hotel Information

Local hotels are offering special rates to Berbee Derby participants. View all hotel and travel information here.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols

We are feeling very fortunate to be able to finally host another (modified) LIVE EVENT!

In order to hold a modified live event though, we are all required by the state of Wisconsin to follow the Safety Requirements put in place.

This important document will outline actions that we will take in order to keep our athletes, staff, and volunteers, and our community safe live events. With that being said, it is important that you read all of the information that is within this protocol and adhere to them, as there are crucial details that you will need to know in order to safely participate in a live event.

Kids Dash

New this year! Our Kids Dash will be a 100 yard run untimed for kids 2-6 years of age. We will have ‘winner’ ribbons for all.

Feeding Local Minds

Did you know that 100% of proceeds from the Berbee Derby go to the Madison-based Technology Education Fund (TEF)? TEF benefits area children, teen and adults who do not have access to computers, software, and many other technology resources.
